photo-spiration { a new poem, in morning light matters

Sometimes some poems just come out of a blankness. Like this new poem here.

Photo of Model Chris Cuba. This photo served as the inspiration for the first line of this poem.

I was staring at this photo. Thoughts of morning, light, leaving this young man reposed held me until a title, a first line lifted from my voice. Like once a negative is exposed to light it declares the edges of photographic subjects, this photo seen through creativity’s pulse, gave me a poem, not from out of an experience, but from many experiences.

new poem, new series { the realizing of meeting frank,

Today, I’m sharing two things. A new poem written today and the full title of a series I alluded to in a previous posting: New poem { in our lives, someone.

The new poem is a part of a series of poems arising from meditations on a particular past relationship. As I’ve been encountering parts of memories, emotional baggage, or even those daydreams which withered or came true.

The series’ title is Meeting Frank,; it is that person’s name and I also meant as metaphorical allusion to the verb frank.

kind of away into a poem } new poem-From an August’s return

Recently the thought of reconnecting with people from my past has been on my mind a lot. Although I am way better than a year ago, the thought of this instills a sense of panic for me. A panic I am quite familiar with but not as loud, thank God.

Socially, I’ve always seen myself behind myself, concerned how awkward I would come off. Usually this would seem to be an issue related to a phobia towards new situations or the unknown; however, for me heading into something I have very little experience with does not instill ant kind of panic.
