Raising Reneseme, part 2: remembering Morris

When we last encountered our story, all was lost. The villainous fox’s apparent destruction of this newborn happy family was a sure bet. But nature in an extraordinary day later, beat the odds.

Seems the other young female, sister to the young mother, instinctively gathered the kittens and carefully placed them under the porch. She of course did not know how to be a mother or could she nurse. After a while my co-worker caught a sound pitched squeals. Seeking this noise she found, sadly, two and a half 2 week old kittens. Morbidly, the other female even recovered the remains of one kitten bitten in half. The other two, one the runt of the litter was wounded, and the other seemed healthy, and unscathed. Read more
